Useful Information and Opening Hours

Opening Hours

The school gates open at 8:45am and the children are given a window of time in which to arrive. Parents and carers are encouraged to drop their children off at the school gate and there will be at least one member of staff on hand if messages need to be passed onto the class teacher. The gates close at 8:55am and children are expected to be in class and registered to begin the school day by 9:00am. We ask that all parents try to get their children into school by 8:55am as doing so gives them the best possible start to the day.

Children arriving after 8:55am should enter school via the office, where they will be able to choose their lunch choice.

Reception children finish the school day at 3:15pm and Years 1-6 finish at 3:25pm. Parents and carers are asked to collect their children on the playground - outside the classrooms - where we can ensure that children are collected by their trusted adults. If the person collecting has not been designated as a trusted adult then the school office will ring home to check parental permission before the child is allowed to leave. All children should have been collected by 3:30pm. If a child has not been picked up by 3:35pm then they will be taken to the school office and a parent or carer will be contacted.

Parental Support and Involvement

At Knightlow, we aim for parents to feel involved in their children's learning every step of the way. The staff work hard to help equip parents with all the information they need to know about how well their children are doing and their next steps of learning.

We have a number of events running through the year to help support parents in understanding the latest teaching methods in subjects such as phonics and maths, and to enable them to help their children learn. In addition to this, we have regular family events, such as our popular Walk to School Breakfasts, Celebration Assemblies, Eucharist services and activities and events organised by the Knightlow School Association.

Please remember to also look at the weekly Newsletter for regular updates on everything that is happening in school.
