Spring term 2024

Welcome back Year 4!

I hope you all had a rest over the half term break and are looking forward to all the amazing learning we will be doing this term!

We are starting off the half term with 2 new books in English, 'The Lion and the Unicorn' and 'Norse Myths'. In history this half term, we will be learning about the Roman invasion of Britain. In maths, we will continue to practise methods for the 4 operations, as well as deepening our understanding of  decimals, fractions and time.

Key dates

• Tuesday 25th Feb - Y3 and 4 Roman Day 
• Thursday 6th March - World Book Day 

PE

We will have PE on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please ensure your child comes to school dressed in their PE uniform (white t-shirt and black shorts/trousers) 

Homework 

Spelling: See below for the weekly word lists. 

Reading: At least 25 minutes per day, and at least twice a week reading aloud with an adult asking questions. Please make a note of this in the green reading diary. 

Times tables: Times tables homework will be set on TTRockstars every Friday. Your child’s password and username is in their green diary. 

SPAG: Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar CGP books will go home on a Friday and are due in on a Wednesday. 

Topic homework: Homework linked to our geography and history topics will be set each half term. See the list below.
