VE Day Celebrations
On Thursday 8 May, the whole school was decked out in red, white and blue, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
We had some extra-special visitors in school, Mary, Kathy, Brian and Pauline, who shared their experiences of VE Day 80 years ago.
Our fantastic History Ambassadors asked some excellent questions and we were all fascinated by hearing all about life as a child during WWII.
It was so lovely to be able to share this special day with them and we are very grateful to them for coming into school. It was also lovely to share our street-party lunch on the playground with them, despite the chill. As Mary said, "I loved it because it wasn't spam and jam sandwiches!"
