Makaton

As part of our aim to be a welcoming and inclusive school for all, we encourage staff and pupils to use Makaton. We are well on the way to being an officially recognised Makaton Friendly School. Mrs Betteridge has worked extremely hard to ensure that we meet all of the criteria to gain this recognition. 

Our Makaton Ambassadors

We now have a fabulous group of volunteers who are our Makaton Ambassadors. They meet weekly and learn some Makaton signs that they then take back and share with their class. Thank you to all of our volunteers and also to Mrs Betteridge who is leading the group with such knowledge, dedication and passion.

We add the Makaton ‘Sign of the Week’ onto our newsletters with a link so that our families can follow at home and learn Makaton too.
