The Spring Term got off to a great start with Reverence Week. Organised and led by Mrs Brown, this was a whole week dedicated to exploring our school's Christian values, and the distinctiveness that this adds to Knightlow. Each class focused on a different value, with the overarching them of God's treasures. Throughout the week, the children unpacked their own class Bible story, using this to create a beautiful collaborative mosaic, and building on the ideas shared to write prayers and reflect on the meaning of the story. Rev Ali, Douglas and Karen led prayer-focused sessions in the library, and helped the children to develop their understanding of the Lord's Prayer. On the Wednesday of Reverence Week, we delivered prayer cards written by the children to every household in Stretton, and we rounded the week off with a wonderful Wild Worship. What a fantastic start to 2017!
In the first half of this term we have also managed to pack in a brilliant experience at Young Voices 2017, Online Safety Week and the Year 6 visit to Marle Hall. Next year will be our 40th visit to Marle Hall - 40 consecutive years of gorge scrambling, winter walks, outdoor challenges and the quality personal development that only really happens in the wilds of Wales! We are putting on our thinking caps for ways we can celebrate this very special anniversary. In the meantime, please keep reading the newsletters for more news!
